The economy in our area has affected all of us. Unfortunately there have been several children who would not have been able to come to Varsity Day Camp this summer due to job loss by one or both parents, etc.  I had mentioned this to a parent and she asked me to call one of the families and tell them that she would pay for 3 days. That got the ball rolling. I have been in contact with over a dozen families in a tight situation at the time. Some have accepted, many with tears of gratitude and relief.

 

We have accepted all these children in order that they don’t loose out on a fun summer. Several parents have been very gracious in sending a little extra with their payments to help defray the cost of food, insurance and the staff.
